Here I am. At the end of my twenty nine day creative challenge.
This is a special day, an extra day that only comes around once every four years, LEAP DAY.
It is just like every other day, yet it is today. Here. Now. Present. After this moment it is gone.
BE PRESENT
BE ALIVE
Do NOT let this life slip through your fingers.
Before you know it, it will be gone, slipping away forever.
Time is slippery. Grab hold of the moments and make them count.
LET them GO and move on to the next memory creation.
I long to live with a PRESENT FUTURE view on life. On the world.
Yesterday is already gone. Finished. Over. Complete.
Yet so many of us end up stuck in the yesterdays.
Wether good or bad, we get stuck in the past.
“Back in ’82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile.”
It’s like uncle Rico, in the movie Napoleon Dynamite, holding onto his football hopes that did not quite pan out.
Sometimes I seem to forget the road I have been on, the ruts I had traveled. I often let go of the past. The victories, failures, broken relationships, hard times, successes, trophies, lands traveled, etc. This is positive some sometimes negative. The past is what launches us into the future. We must remember and move forward.
Celebrate
Make a monument and celebrate what has happened in your life. Celebrate the successes, the mountains climbed, the peaks reached. Yet do not get stuck here. Once you make it to the peak of this mountain, there are a dozen more crying out for you to climb them. Life will lead you to the next mountain, the next challenge, the next victory.
Let Go
At one point in my life I wrote about the “art of letting go.” A series of writings that will surface again at some point. Letting GO is key to any forward movement in life. Wether in relationships, vocation, business — if we cannot let go of things that hold us back, yes real struggles, we will never move to that next mountain. Some may miss what I am saying here. Hear me out, if you were abused, or hurt, or wronged — do not deny the reality of these real things, face them. Go through the pain and get to the healing point of letting go. You will find great great victory in truly getting to the point where you can honestly LET GO.
MOVE FORWARD
Motion is the only way to go.
“An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion…” Newton’s First Law
Motion begets motion.
If you feel stuck, start moving.
If you have been resting too long, start to move.
Walk, run, get going.
All you have is today.
Do not throw it away.
Your light was meant to shine.
