February 21, 2016 - the challenge of perfection. I just finished watching the BURNT, a movie about a chef and his JOURNEY / battle with perfection. I have seen a glimpse of the competitive nature of chefs, through my travels. There is this odd competition and cockiness that chefs carry. Honestly I do not feel uber competitive these days. I did in the days of sports but right now this season of life I feel like my biggest competitor is myself. I desire to grow in my art and creativity, but I … [Read more...] about the challenge of perfection

K.I.S.S.
February 20, 2016 K . I . S . S . Keep It Simple Stupid Often in life we overcomplicate things. We make them out to be harder than they need to be. Keep it SIMPLE — Life, goals, relationships, business, branding CHANGE CHANGE can can be something that seems drastic and even unattainable. Like, I need to loose forty pounds, or the desire to travel, or changing jobs / careers, perusing a dream, taking up a new hobby, getting married, having a baby, starting a business, … [Read more...] about K.I.S.S.
LiFE is a JoUrNEY
February 19th, 2016 The JoUrNEy is the REwArD — Ancient Proverb The vision is to EMBRACE the JOURNEY. Embrace every aspect of this wild ride we call LIFE. If you lived this way, what could your time on earth be like? Would it differ greatly from your current mode of opperandum?! Would your time on this planet look drastically different? Or would there just be a series of subtle adjustments that would need to take place? HOW?!?!?!? How do we … [Read more...] about LiFE is a JoUrNEY
decide part 2
February 18.2016 decide — I thought I would do a short continuation on yesterday’s blog. If you missed it, click here before any further. These posts may seem somewhat abstract. Honestly, I enjoy inspiring change more than I do giving examples of change or steps of change. There are so many books out there giving sixteen steps to freedom or eight steps to financial success; honestly I feel that change comes from making a decision. Speaking out that decision and trusting that the steps … [Read more...] about decide part 2

embrace the moment
February 16, 2016 ENJOY THE DAY Enjoy the day — some days this is easier than others. Today I had a scattered travel day. Sleeping only an hour or so before rising early to journey home from the east coast. About seven hours of travel. I slept a bit through the flights, yet the body is still exhausted. Sleep in the middle seat of a 747 is not quite like the pillow top mattress my wife and I bought shortly after we got married. That said, arrival on the home front was a little … [Read more...] about embrace the moment
CREATIVITY is mine
February 15, 2016 CREATIVITY is mine We all have access to it. I had this thought this morning and now I find myself watching the 58th Grammies. A display of the supposed best of the best of the best of the best in world when it comes to music. We have the same access to creativity as every single person who set foot on that stage. OK, yes some are intrinsically gifted and some were born as brilliant savants, but the reality is, most of them worked their as$e$ off to get to … [Read more...] about CREATIVITY is mine
give it away
February 14, 2016 Getting out the door I am currently on a connecting flight from Dallas to the East coast. It has been a long weekend. We went to a wedding last night. We traveled the day before and we have a fifteen month old daughter. I love life with a family and a little one, but getting out the door is hard. Everything takes longer and there is more consideration with every decision. Spontaneity now entails an extra diaper, wipes, snacks and something to keep the little one occupied … [Read more...] about give it away
